Business Development Manager - Corporate

We are delighted to be working with a prestigious US law firm to add a senior business development professional to lead their established corporate practice. The role will report straight into the Business Development Director for the firm, giving you plenty of opportunity to lead the group in a strategic manner.



The role will allow you to become a subject matter expert across the corporate practice and take a key role in the wider business development function, a prior track record of working in a corporate practice of a law firm would be advantageous but not essential, we would also welcome applicants from other transactional practice groups. Alongside leading the corporate group you will also have line management responsibilities for two individuals also based in the New York office.



The firm have a really collegiate team environment within the BD & Marketing team & the firm has lots of long-standing members, many of whom have been promoted internally during their time with the firm. Showcasing the positive cultural environment and potential for mid-long term career progression.



Core duties of the role include;




  • Work with the key partners and stakeholders to provide strategic market intelligence, advising the firm on key trends that could be applicable to the existing client base and advising on potential new business opportunities for group, either within the existing client base or potential new clients for the firm.
  • Be involved in the client relationship/development area for the key clients associated within the Corporate practice, working closely with the firms key decision makers and practice leaders to put together the strategy and execute on the agreed client plans.
  • Work in tandem with the firms communication team in order to put together profile raising plans for the firm within specialist markets and for individual partners within the finance practice group.
  • Take on some of the more traditional BD duties for the group, this will include marketing strategy and content, events and bids and proposal work.
