Business Development Manager

We are working on an exciting new role with a New York headquartered law firm, who specialize within the financial services space, to bring in a BD professional to work in a strategic advisory capacity very much focusing upon the client development and relationship piece. This role is quite different from others in the market as it will have very little work upon some of the more traditional BD practice duties, such as submissions and bids work.

We would like to engage individuals who are either working in a current client role within a law firm or those in a practice/sector role that would be excited to be being in a role focused upon the client piece.

Core duties include:

  • Work with specific partners and client team leaders on tailored plans on client engagement strategy, including the client targeting piece in line with the firms objectives within the finance space.
  • Provide strategic advice to the partnership and provide coaching to individuals on selective and targeted new business opportunities.
  • Within the existing client portfolio, identify areas for revenue growth for the firm, working with the business leaders on how to coordinate the approach the best approach to meet these firmwide goals.
  • Collaborate with the internal proposal function, ensuring that the team have all the necessary information to pull the proposal together. You will also work with the partners on post pitch feedback.
  • Work with partners on BD coaching, providing insight and ideas on how they can increase their effectiveness at winning new business.
  • Alongside the BD Director and CMO, play a pivotal part in the client feedback program, ensuring it's continued value add to the firm and increasing the depth of service provided by the firm to it's client base.
  • Be a contributor within the leadership team to continue to mentor junior colleagues within the BD and client teams.
