Business Development Manager - Funds & Real Estate Finance

Overview:

We are tremendously excited to be exclusively representing one of the leading law firms in the US on their search to add a Business Development Manager to their growing Fund Finance and Real Estate Finance practices!

In this position, you will work closely with the Head of Business Development to support and drive strategic growth initiatives, client development and market positioning for this flagship area for the firm. This role supports the partner who accounts for 40% of the firm's overall annual revenue and has for the last 4 years. The preferred candidate will serve as the go-to liaison and will develop and execute client strategy, while managing marketing initiatives for the Fund Finance and Real Estate Finance practice areas. We believe this provides an excellent opportunity for someone with some management experience to further their growth as a leader, while taking a larger role in the strategic planning and approach for key accounts and clients.

We would love to engage with professionals that have previous management experience in a Business Development role within a Corporate or Transactional practice area within a Law Firm. Beyond that, this person must be enthusiastic about the opportunity and must lead by example for junior staff members.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic and proactive business development initiatives and opportunities to secure new business for and elevate the market profile of the Finance practice;
  • Understand the Firm's Fund Finance and Real Estate Finance practices and platforms, client base, market opportunities and business development support needs;
  • Oversee and execute the preparation of pitches, presentations, RFP responses, background materials and general practice group marketing materials;
  • Oversee and execute all legal directory (g., Chambers, Legal 500, IFLR), award and league table submissions, including working with the partners to develop submission strategy and reviewing and editing all entries;
  • Work with partners to develop and execute practice group and individual business development plans and budgets;
